they are not really that perfect if you look closely. but thank you very much :)
- I always sharpen the image(filter -> sharpen -> sharpen more) first to make it easier to work on.
- When I am lazy(which is, most of the time), I simply use the polygonal lasso tool for the selection around the body part.
- For the most difficult part, hair, I use the eraser tool(hardness, opacity, flow: 100%) because I think the result is more natural. You can play around with the size of the brush to deal with those very tiny details.
- Use the eraser tool as the “smoothener” for any undesirable parts. It always works.
- Patience! :D
To fill up the silhouette with a solid colour, simply select Image -> Adjustments -> Gradient Map.
